The Brand Content Strategist will be responsible for driving social media and blog growth and best practices, planning and optimization across platforms. They will also assist in ongoing trend development and identification, social media execution/community management as well as ongoing concepting around social-first, relevant content.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with the SR social media strategist to identify opportunities, long-term strategies for growth.

  • Creating and planning content through copy, imagery, video and other content types on Finish Line and JD social properties

  • Working closely with brand team members to plan and execute key campaign moments across social media platforms based on best practices

  • Assisting in planning, writing and editing blog content

  • Tracking, reporting and analyzing social media content initiatives on a monthly basis

  • Assisting in monthly editorial calendar planning across all Finish Line owned social channels

  • Researching consumer-relevant content, trends and stories to assist in monthly trend reports.

  • Monitor customer interaction with Finish Line and JD social channels and participate as needed to drive engagement within the community

  • Monitors external blogs, social networking sites and forums and Competitors activities. Participates in the conversation as needed

  • Identifies and actively obtains content derived from unique stories and interesting people that could be used for marketing content assets. Obtains content including videos and images from Vendors, external websites, bloggers and influencers to be posted on social media properties

  • Additional duties and projects as required

Employees may be asked to perform additional duties outside of normal job scope on a temporary basis per company policy. Pay range: $65,000 - $70,000; 10% bonus target. This role will be eligible for medical, dental, vision, 401k, sick leave, parental leave, and company paid time off plan.

Required Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university and 2 - 4 years’ experience in brand marketing, preferably in the digital space; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Candidate will bring an understanding of how social media contributes to the company’s success. Must be able to quickly assimilate into rapidly changing retail environment, and make an immediate contribution, including quickly earning the confidence of cross-functional team leaders and peers. Must be both a team player and have an ability to manage and lead multiple challenging assignments concurrently. Must have a track record of moving swiftly and decisively, delivering both long-term and short term results.

Required Computer and/or Technical Skills:

-Should have basic to expert knowledge and abilities with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

-Should have basic to expert knowledge of social publishing and analytics platforms.

-WordPress knowledge and capabilities preferred.
